Self-help funding from the public health insurance fund
Self-help groups, organizations and contact sites can file an application with the Public Health Insurance Fund for the funding of self-help pursuant to Article 20c of German Social Code V (SGB V).
Funding is possible when the self-help is for people living with certain illness, for example, HIV
Funding is awarded on three levels:
- local groups and organizations can file applications with the public health insurance fund in their city or community.
- groups and organizations that function statewide can file applications with the public health insurance funds’ state organizations.
- national groups and organizations can file applications with the public health insurance funds’ national organizations.
Funding can be applied for specific projects, for example, a seminar or a website, as well as for the permanent support of a group of organization.
The public health insurance funds have prepared detailed information in a handbook.
